Jon Stewart Mocks Dr. Ben Carson's Anti-Gay Remarks and GOP Efforts to Rebrand: VIDEO

Carson_stewart

Jon Stewart checked in last night on the Republican Party's effort to rebrand its image and notes that since then they've failed spectacularly, labeling immigrants "wetbacks", comparing gays to pedophiles, polygamists, and people who have sex with animals.

"What is it with you people and the animal f**king?"

Rep. Louie Gohmert Opposes Gun Control Because Gay Marriage Leads to Polygamy, Sex with Animals

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), perhaps the House's loudest, nuttiest bigot, isn't letting that title get away from him.

GohmertHere's what he said when asked about his opposition to gun control legislation, Right Wing Watch reports:

In fact, I had this discussion with some wonderful, caring Democrats earlier this week on the issue of, well, they said "surely you could agree to limit the number of rounds in a magazine, couldn't you? How would that be problematic?"

...

And I pointed out, well, once you make it ten, then why would you draw the line at ten? What's wrong with nine? Or eleven? And the problem is once you draw that limit ; it's kind of like marriage when you say it's not a man and a woman any more, then why not have three men and one woman, or four women and one man, or why not somebody has a love for an animal?

There is no clear place to draw the line once you eliminate the traditional marriage and it's the same once you start putting limits on what guns can be used, then it's just really easy to have laws that make them all illegal.

Earlier in the discussion, Gohmert called on Christians to take a more active role in politics ... because otherwise their churches are going to be forced to hire cross-dressing Satan-worshipers.

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) Says ENDA is 'War on Religion', Rips Those Who Ignore 'Plumbing God Created': VIDEO

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) had a chat with Family Research Council hate group leader Tony Perkins today, and Perkins asked Gohmert about the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), which had a hearing today in the Senate, Right Wing Watch reports.

GohmertAsked Perkins:

"What this would do is give special employment benefits and protections based upon their sexual behavior and orientation. What do you see as the outcome of this? I mean, are you concerned increasingly that this is a way to essentially punish religious freedom in the business environment, in the business sector?"

Replied Gohmert:

"It continues to be part of this administration’s ongoing war on religion, on particularly Judeo-Christian values. But of course this is one that even is extremely contrary to the Muslim religion as well. I mean, Islam, Judaism, although there are plenty of people in Judaism and Christianity who think despite the plumbing that God created, that as the Iowa Supreme Court said, there is no biological evidence of a preference for a man and a woman being married as opposed to a man and a man...It also means that Christian schools will be forced to hire openly homosexual individuals, and it’s kind of tough to teach biblical principles in Romans 1 in a school if you are of the persuasion of being homosexual."

Rep. Gohmert Slams Prop 8 Ruling, Judges Who Disrespect 'Sperm and Egg' Coming Together: VIDEO

Gohmert

Yesterday on the House floor Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) expressed his disgust over the Prop 8 ruling, condemning judges who disrespect the "sperm and egg coming together".

Said Gohmert: "The court, as I understand it today, struck down a law that said marriage is between a man and a woman. It's interesting that there are some courts in America where the judges have become so wise in their own eyes that they know better than nature or nature's God."

Gohmert then brought up the Supreme Courtjustices in Iowa who were ousted last year after a vicious campaign by anti-gay activists over their support for marriage equality:

"Nature seemed to like the idea of an egg and a sperm coming together because of pro-creation. Apparently [the judges] thought the sperm had far better use some other way biologically, combining it with something else. But the voters of Iowa came back and said you know what, if you're not smart enough to figure out actual plumbing...then perhaps we need new judges, and that's what they did."
