Gay Wedding Video of the Day: Aaron and Danny

Back in May I posted a meticulously produced and performed song and dance video marriage proposal from producer Danny Rose to his boyfriend Aaron Rosenberg, an entertainment lawyer. Well, the two of them were married this past weekend in over-the-top Hollywood style.

The ceremony opened with a tongue-in-cheek video of The Muppets and Danny and Aaron performing "Somebody's Getting Married".

There may be more clips in the future, but here are some details on the rest of the ceremony, which took place on the Paramount lot and certainly sounds clip-worthy.

Shortly thereafter, the grooms made their way down the aisle atop a unicorn to a Jewish wedding ceremony "with a twist" led by Joss Stone backed by a surprise gospel choir singing a rendition of Lion King's "Circle of Life" and Lauryn Hill's "Tell Him". John Legend serenaded the grooms and their mothers on their mother-son dance with his song "Stay With You". Jennifer Lopez made a special dedication of her song "Papi," broadcast from her European tour. There was a surprise live performance by PSY of his hit "Gangnam Style" (for which he called the grooms to the stage to join him); and an impromptu performance by Ciara of the Diana Ross hit "Upside Down," with the grooms as her background vocalists in wigs.

Meet The Muppets, Well-Connected Activists: VIDEO

With news that the Jim Henson Company has severed ties with Chick-fil-A over CEO Dan Cathy's anti-gay politics, The Daily Beast rounded up some clips showing Henson's most famous creations, the Muppets, combating social, cultural and economic ills, including childhood hunger, biased media and discrimination.

I've included two videos — President Bill Clinton and HIV-positive Muppet Kami discussing HIV/AIDS and a longer one of Big Bird and company battling bullying — AFTER THE JUMP, but the entire collection is worth a view.

Chick-Fil-A Recalls Muppet Kids Meal Toys, Declaring Them Unsafe

According to a photo published to the 'Wipe Out Homophobia" Facebook group, Chick-Fil-A has announced a voluntary recall of Jim Henson's Creature Shop Puppet Kids Meal toys, and is blaming it on safety issues. There's no information on when the notice was allegedly put up, but the "recall" is backdated to one day before the Jim Henson Company cut ties with Chick-Fil-A for its donations to anti-gay groups.

The notice says "Willow Bend Mall" which is in Plano, Texas.

Says the notice:

"We apologize for any inconvenience but as of 7/19/12 Chick-Fil-A has voluntarily recalled all of the Jim Henson's Creature Shop Puppet Kids Meal toys due to a possible safety issue. Please be advised that there have not been any cases in which a child has actually been injured, however there have been some reports of children getting their fingers stuck in the holes of the puppets. We are offering a substitution of a complimentary kids icedream cone in its place until a replacement toy is available."

Coincidence? Perhaps they're worried the kids might touch something gay-friendly.

The Muppets Cut Ties with Chick-Fil-A Over Anti-Gay Policies

The Jim Henson Company, creator of The Muppets, has ended its relationship with Chick-Fil-A over its donations to anti-gay causes, it said in a Facebook note posted on Friday:

The Jim Henson Company has celebrated and embraced diversity and inclusiveness for over fifty years and we have notified Chick-Fil-A that we do not wish to partner with them on any future endeavors.  Lisa Henson, our CEO is personally a strong supporter of gay marriage and has directed us to donate the payment we received from Chick-Fil-A to GLAAD.
