Did anybody hear about that freak hailstorm we got in Los Angeles last week? It dropped over five inches of rain in three hours over the Compton and Watts sections of town, along with piles of hail. As I was looking back through the photos I took last week, I realized that I inadvertantly captured pictures of the storm brewing because I thought the clouds that evening looked really unusual (for L.A. of course). I took this photo going south on La Cienega turning onto Santa Monica Blvd. That's the storm over on the left. (Spooky music) Woooooo. Here's another, maybe even more dramatic.
P.S. — The only thing more dangerous and distracting than talking on a cell phone while driving is shooting photos, and I have to say I do both all the time (not simultaneously). But it's really how most people see L.A. From their cars.
