Every now and then you meet someone who makes you look at yourself in a different way, who makes you want to be a better person in all ways. I met Dan at the end of May. A beautiful soul. I love his eyes and his smile, but most of all his sarcastic wit. I took this picture of him at a reception for an author in the penthouse of the Chateau Marmont in the early evening on June 7, 2003. We haven’t spoken in awhile, but I still think about him a lot.
