The Olympic Torch Relay just exchanged runners on Westwood Boulevard, which just happens to be one block away from my apartment. I thought I’d go over there and see if I could catch it. I was lucky enough to choose the right corner to stand on, and the torch changed hands right in front of me. I’m not sure who the runners were in this case, but the woman who took the torch was more than thrilled.
I had never seen the Olympic Torch before. June gloom has descended upon L.A. in a big way, the marine layer coming in from the ocean to create a thick gray blanket of clouds. This really cheered things up a bit.
And traffic was only hampered for a minute, really.
