Writer Andrew Davies’ personal dislike of gay sex has caused him to drop it from the screen adaptation of Alan Hollinghurst’s Booker Prize-winning novel The Line of Beauty: “The gay sex makes me rather queasy. I suspect the television audience also finds it awkward. So I’d prefer more soft focus with the camera on the eyes rather than other more intimate parts.”
Burt Reynolds believes gay marriage can work if one finds the right partner. On his Dukes of Hazzard co-star: “When I worked with Willie Nelson – who is just about the nicest man I’ve ever worked with in my life – I thought, ‘If I’d have been gay, it would’ve saved me millions, just because we’d still be happily married.'”
