Good news. Ford Motor Company DOES THE RIGHT THING and releases letter saying it will continue to support gay organizations and events, and will run ads in gay publications supporting all Ford brands including Jaguar and Land Rover. In the letter Ford also says to keep an eye on the ads to verify that they have in fact been tailored to a specifically gay demographic.

Evil Governor Mitt Romney won’t seek re-election in Massachusetts. Romney has been outspoken in his support of an anti-gay amendment in that state that would ban gay marriage in that state and overturn the rights afforded to same-sex married couples there. He is expected to run for president in 2008.

Senator George Allen (R-VA) says he will vote against adding sexual orientation to federal hate crime statutes even though he voted for it in 2004. The Virginia-based Family Policy Network said they would expose him as a “conservative fraud” after the 2004 vote. Allen is seeking re-election next year, and may now be considered the bigots’ bitch.
