I’d like to thank those who voted for Towleroad at the Best Gay Blogs 2005. BGB has been keeping a watchful eye on the gay blogosphere. It’s always flattering to be acknowledged and appreciated, and I’m honored by the award. It’s also great to be out of the holiday sludge and into the new year. Once again, I wish the best for all of you in 2006. Thanks for reading.

In what is perhaps one of the most ridiculous attacks yet from the far right wingnuts, the Concerned Women for America is attacking Mattel over what is most likely an overlooked error on a Barbie website. Children are given three choices on a pull down menu – “I am a Girl”, “I am a Boy”, and “I Don’t Know”. Because of this, the CWA is sending out a massive wingnut alert that Barbie promotes “gender confusion” and bisexuality. And make sure you listen to the experts on the CWA radio show for some good laughs. If you’ll remember, it wasn’t too long ago the CWA was blasting Starbucks for their use of an Armistead Maupin quote on a coffee cup.
