David Beckham really enjoys using his lips. He spoke to the UK Mirror before the World Cup started last week:
“Before the game on Saturday, we'll all shake hands and wish each other luck. It's a bit different to what I've grown used to at Real Madrid. Now that I've been in Spain for three years, we all kiss each other before we go out. I nearly did it when I came off at Old Trafford during the friendly against Jamaica last weekend. Aaron Lennon was coming on for me and I reached forward to kiss him. But then I remembered where I was and I thought ‘no, I better not'.”
England faced Paraguay in their first match over the weekend and beat them 1-0, although the heat affected them, according to Beckham: “We faded but that was totally down to the heat. We can do better but the important thing was that we got off to a good start.”
Beckham did find ways to cool off, however.
Yeah, yeah, I know I'm a bit Becks-obsessed here. If you're not used to it by now, you may never be.
On the fashion tip, here's a shot of Beckham's flashy little football shoe. I wasn't aware that they made individual shoes for each game of the Cup. The more goods to sell at auction later, I guess…
Here's the England team before Round 1.
