Justin Timberlake seemed to be picking a bizarre fight with American Idol-winner Taylor Hicks in a recent interview with Vanity Fair.
“People think he looks so normal, and he's so sweet and he's so earnest, but he can't carry a tune in a bucket. If [Hicks] has any skeletons whatsoever, if God forbid, he's gay, and if all these people in Mississippi who voted for him are like [then he takes on a thick southern accent], ‘Oh my god, I voted for a queer!' It's just too much pressure.”
God forbid!
I have the same confusion about that statement as the folks over at Defamer: “As for his comments regarding the career-damaging effects of any swishy skeletons that may be cowering in Hicks' closet, we're not sure who should be more offended: his newly liberated, ex-bandmate Lance Bass, or the entire populaton of Mississippi.”
After Bass' recent coming out, Timberlake's publicist issued this statement: “Lance is one of my great friends. I support him and wish him all the happiness in the world.”
