The second giant round object in six months is soon to inhabit a public plaza in Manhattan, but this one won’t be filled with a breath-holding magician. Anish Kapoor’s Sky Mirror will instead look outward, reflecting (from some perspectives) an inverted view of the skyline of midtown. This is the latest public art project from the creator of Chicago’s “Bean”. The ball is set to be in place from September 19 through October 27.
