Elton John faces “towering” debts according to the Daily Mail. Said one noted pop music accountant: “Everything is big with Elton John. He makes a lot of money and he needs to keep on making it. He has taken a lot of money out of the company and if he suddenly stopped working he could have a problem.”
No wonder the singer is pissed at his label. At a recent concert in New York he lashed out at Universal for not promoting his recent release The Captain and the Kid: “I'm going to play a song but I'm sure you haven't heard it because the f**kers haven't promoted it.”
Following the tirade, in which he dropped the “f-bomb” 15 times, Elton called on his label to drop him.
