Most are predicting Democrats to win a majority in the House of Representatives for the first time since 1994. Democrats must gain 15 seats to do so. The Dems must make a net gain of six seats in the Senate to gain control there, although most current predictions show Republicans holding it. Governors are on the ballot in 36 states. Eight states (Virginia, Tennessee, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, South Carolina, South Dakota and Wisconsin) are considering amendments that would ban gay marriage.
Here are a couple of videos to provide some impetus to get out and vote (if the last six years haven't been impetus enough). The first is a video reinterpretation of George Michael's “Freedom” and the second is Keith Olbermann's special pre-election comment. Good stuff.
As Olbermann puts it, “This country was founded to prevent anyone from making it up as they went along.” Make a note of that.
