As a follow-up to my 5000th post, I'd like to thank folks for the interest in beta testing and getting an early look at our upcoming project. Others who are interested can continue to sign up for one of our newsletters in the sidebar until the time we launch. If you already subscribe to our feed through a newsreader you can just send us an email to people (at) www.towleroad.com if you're interested in being a part of the beta test.
That's partly what this post is about. We're finishing up some important details on our new project and are looking for someone adept in PHP and web-service integration who can help us out. More details after the jump, and please feel free to forward the details to someone you know who might be qualified and interested…
We're ready to bring in someone for a week or two to work with us intensely (and then for a while longer, less intensely) to get our first enhancement to the Towleroad experience safely out. We're hoping to find someone who can expertly dispense with the browser quirks that crop up in anything one does online, who can help finish coding a modification in PHP or a web-service integration we're finishing with a partner, who can whip through a few rounds of bugs and tweaks and design improvements from beta users, and who can help solidify a hosting plan and security issues. We're building with the following acronyms, which is where your skills should be: LAMP, PHP, Flash, HTML, CSS, and light Ajax techniques. It's fun work that your friends will like and will get to use. We're open to ideas for future enhancements and have incorporated some good ones already. And it's a chance to work on a project that will be out within the month, getting used, and hopefully generating feedback for further improvement in the real world. And, we think it's the beginning of some very cool things.
If you are interested and have some time in the coming weeks, drop Michael a note at mike (at) www.towleroad.com with your skills, availability, compensation needs, and links to work or resume if available.
