Barack Obama and John McCain were together again last night, appearing at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner, a Catholic Archdiocese of New York charity event for the benefit of needy children at which candidates traditionally appear. The candidates exchanged comedic blows, drawing on some of the more contentious points of the presidential campaign.
Said Obama: “Many of you know that I got my name, Barack, from my father. What you may not know is Barack is actually Swahili for “that one.” And I got my middle name from somebody who obviously didn't ever think I'd run for president.”
He also threw this one out at Giuliani, who was there along with Hillary Clinton: “Who would have thought that a cross-dressing mayor from New York City would have a tough time winning the Republican nomination. Its' shocking”
