On Tuesday I posted about the plight of Jay Mercado and Shirley Tan, a Pacifica, California lesbian couple with twin sons. The couple has been together for 23 years and Tan faces deportation to the Philippines tomorrow because of U.S. immigration laws. The couple has exhausted all their legal options. Mercado is a U.S. citizen and Tan a Filipino national. The couple married in 2004 in California, even applied for political asylum, but Tan was notified in January that she would be deported. Tomorrow's the day.
