Wednesday night, the Family Research Council held an online "prayercast" against health care reform. Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and Lou Engle of The Call led a group of participants, which included Tony Perkins, Bishop Harry Jackson, Focus on the Family's Jim Daly and James and Shirley Dobson, Senator Sam Brownback, and Senator Jim DeMint.
Said Perkins in the announcement: "Life and death hinges on the Senate health care bill. We facesignificant threats to the God-given right to human life throughgovernment funding of abortions, our health from rationing, our familyfinances from higher taxes, and our general freedoms posed by thegovernment plan to take over health care. There have been a number of critical hours in American history. Ournation has struggled mightily and, under God, always risen to thechallenges before us. Tonight, we will face this moral crisis by takingaction and obeying the Biblical mandate to pray for our nation and itsleaders."
