The GLAAD Media Awards were handed out last night at the Marriott Marquis ballroom in New York's Times Square.
The Excellence in Media Award was presented to Joy Behar. Cynthia Nixon received the Vito Russo Award. Brothers and Sisters (ABC) won Outstanding Drama Series. Outstanding TV Movie or Mini-Series went to Prayers for Bobby (Lifetime) – Sigourney Weaver was there to accept. Outstanding TV Journalism Segment went to "Why Will Won't Pledge Allegiance" American Morning (CNN). Outstanding Digital Journalism Article was a tie between "'We Love You, This Won't Change a Thing'" by John Buccigross (ESPN.com) and "Why Can't You Just Butch Up? Gay Men, Effeminacy, and Our War with Ourselves" by Brent Hartinger (AfterElton.com). Hair's Gavin Creel accepted a Special Recognition Award.
