Nathan Manske and Marquise Lee just finished a 4 month, 50 state tour of the United States collecting stories for their I'm From Driftwood site. We'll be sharing some of the stories they collected along with some of the insight into what they saw. They're still encouraging people to submit their written stories via IFD.
We met with then Providence Mayor David Cicilline just a few weeks before he would become a U.S. congressman. I love how his story shows that times are truly changing. Running for office, he wanted to make sure everyone knew he's gay, as opposed to keeping it quiet. It's a good thing when stories like these are beginning to appear more often than scandalous stories about closeted politicians.
