A vote in Indiana's House on a bill which would prohibit recognition of same-sex marriage and civil unions in the state has been delayed. It was expected to take place yesterday:
"Resolution sponsor Rep. Eric Turner of Marion said he wouldn't call it for a vote on Monday because some House members who want to support it were absent for the day. He didn't specify when he expected a vote. The proposed amendment stalled in the House under Democratic majorities the last four years, but is expected to advance since Republicans won control of the House in last year's election. If it clears both the House and Senate this year, it would have to pass again in 2013 or 2014 before getting on the ballot for a statewide referendum."
