Airbus introduced a "concept plane" at an event yesterday in London which is the company's vision of flying in 2050:
Transparent fuselages that give passengers birds-eye views of the city that lies 40,000 feet below their feet. Holographic projections that transform a private cabin into a Zen garden. Self-cleaning seats and headrests that can never be soiled.
Imagine stepping in to your pre-selected themed cabin, relaxing into a perfectly clean, ecologically grown seat that changes shape to suit you and looking up through the transparent ceiling at stars and unlimited space of the universe at an altitude of more than 40,000 feet.
The Guardian adds:
In the cabin concept, new personalised zones replace the traditional cabin classes. The "vitalising zone" helps passengers relax, with vitamin and antioxidant-enriched air, mood lighting, aromatherapy and acupressure treatments.
In the "interactive zone" there are virtual pop-up projections taking passengers to whichever social scene they want to be in, from holographic gaming to virtual changing rooms for active shoppers
