Tony Perkins, mouthpiece and president for the Family Research Council, recently sent a letter to supporters in which he blasts the ‘It Gets Better' campaign as “disgusting.”

Perkins' remarks are offensive, yes, but I am especially incensed over his use of quotations around the word community. Perkins and his peers not only deny LGBT people's innate attractions, but they also insist that LGBT people cannot form actual, important or sustainable bonds.
Now, that is truly disgusting.
