A marathon session on two opposing same-sex marriage bills is expected in the Maryland House today:
ABC2 has learned not only will House delegates consider the same sex marriage bill, but they will also hear from opponents who are introducing a competing measure to do away with gay marriage. That bill seeks to create a constitutional amendment to define marriage as between a man and a woman. We've also learned religious leaders who support and oppose the issue testify at the hearing.
The hearing will begin at 1 PM in a joint session of the House Judiciary Committee and the House Health and Government Relations Committee.
It's expected to go on longer than last year's hearing which went on for 8 hours.
