On last night's The Daily Show, host Jon Stewart looked at how news of Caitlyn Jenner's debut has been seen in the media. Even though some people were, to use Stewart's word, "dicks", broadly speaking the mainstream media responded in a positive and non-vomit inducing way. They also wasted no time in "treating her like a woman." Said Stewart,
You see, Caitlyn, when you were a man we could talk about your athleticism, your business acumen, but now you're a woman, your looks are really the only thing we care about. Which brings us to phase two of your transition: comparative f**kability…Look, we want to give a woman a compliment here. We just need to make sure another woman gets taken down in the process…So Caitlyn Jenner, congratulations. Welcome to being a woman in America.
