Last month's election of Patricia Todd to the Alabama House, which made her the first openly gay official in that state's history, is being challenged by her opponent's mother-in-law.
Said Childress: “I want this controversy settled. This is happening like when Bush and Gore were running for president. I don't like it.”
A hearing is expected within 20 days.
