Towleroad's Welsh rugby obsession Gavin Henson pissed off "Voice of an Angel" girlfriend Charlotte Church when he told her that she'd be "the AbFab mother from hell," referring to Jennifer Saunders' overcocktailed character Eddie Monsoon. Church was holding a glass of champagne and a cigarette at the time so her protest didn't carry much weight.
Singer Damian Marley says references to "burning" homosexuals in reggae lyrics are metaphorical: "When they speak of fire, part of it comes from the deejay battling culture and trying to get an immediate crowd response at the dance. But another part comes from faith. The churches all speak against homosexuality. But you don't walk around Jamaica and see homosexuals hanging from the lampposts. It's a spiritual burning."

If Damian Marley were a white, country singer, singing about burning Mexicans, there would be unanimous, international outrage about his lyrics, and at his lame explanation.
I'd hate to think that he's going to be given a free pass on this, just because he's black.

It's really heartening to see people all across America get behind the "BOYCOTT ARUBA" movement.
Until there is justice for Natalee Holloway, we have to BOYCOTT ARUBA, and show them that confessed murderers and rapists must be punished.

I don't care if a boycott of Aruba is completely effective or not. The point of calling for the boycott is to keep pressure on Aruba, and the Dutch legal system to fully investigate and prosecute this case.
Confessed rapists and murderers have been set free in Aruba, and that is not acceptable.

??? what's up with the Fox stuff? guys....a murder is sad. It's not an international crisis. Fox et al hammer this crap home by the hour (previous examples: Runaway Bride, Scott Peterson, Michael Jackson) so that America thinks that they are well-informed. And they are! About Aruba Teen, Runaway Bride, etc. Ask 'em the history of US support of Saddam Hussein, or, relative to the topic at hand, ongoing murderous homophobia in reggae music....and the dialogue bubble over their head would read: "I think I get bigger portions at Applebees. Let's go there tonight!"

you didn't have a link up top for t-shirt posting....i'm not particularly someone who wears much in regard to printed matter....yet, i'd probably have to get one for memories sake -- a long travel, other stories, and much more along the way...."no towleroad t-shirt left behind". thank you for all sorts of varyious postings.
