Group of 78 gay Italian clergy send open letter to the Vatican:
"We don't have more problems living chastely than heterosexuals do, because homosexuality is not a synonym of incontinence, nor of uncontrollable urges. We are not sick with sex and our homosexual tendency has not damaged our psychic health...We consider our homosexuality to be wealth, because it helps us to share the marginalization and suffering of many people."

Ricky Martin to play Taj Mahal. Not Trump's casino, the real one in Agra.
Wingnut calls for "Quit Gay Sex" campaign against "the dangerous and addictive homosexual lifestyle." If he's speaking from experience, I hear there's a patch for it that fits right over one's mouth.
Latvia amends its constitution to explicitly state that marriage can only be between a man and a woman. Same-sex marriage was already illegal but the haters just wanted to make sure everyone understood. The president, prime minister, and foreign minister criticized the move, but so many MPs are in favor of it, the changes will be almost impossible to reject.
Iowa hearts pink. When you picture a room with pink walls and a ceiling covered with moons and stars, do you picture a little girl's bedroom or a jail cell? Was a Jackson County, Iowa sheriff taking a cue from Iowa football coach Hayden Fry in painting the county jail cell pink in order to humiliate prisoners? If you'll remember, that's what the football coach did to the Hawkeye visiting team locker room in order to make them feel less manly. Perhaps we can ask the internet's resident expert in pink...
Radar magazine folds for the second time.

I would think the goal of incarceration is to keep criminals calm and hopefuly rehabilitate them. Pink walls in no way would do that. I bet this prison has a lot of inmate on inmate crime and such....
The ideal prison would have no straight edges. Rounded curvilinear lines (soothing) off white light tans with at least pictures of green plants (green is the least damaging of all colors to the eye when looked at for long periods of time...harkening back to our evolution amongst green plants)
Anyway

I love the Christian right's perception of homosexuality as a "lifestyle," like it's something we decided to pick up while shopping. "Excuse me, do you have 'gay' in my size?"

I just don't understand the hatered. Where does it come from? and better yet why do they hate so much? Oh well we just have to keep our eyes on the prize and keep our wits about us and stand together even if we disagee sometimes on how to stand together.
I like Trent's site too, it is really good for water cooler and cocktail conversation.

I totally thought that was a picture of Andy for a minute. He looks a lot like Ricky Martin.

I think that the pink is a good idea!

>>We are not sick with sex
Bullshit! There's only two reasons men would choose to be priests. One is to be able to wear dresses in public, and the other is so they can rape little boys.
Okay, maybe not all priests are cross dressers and rapists, but there's something wrong with a man who choses to be celibate , and spends his life avoiding adult relationships. It's not normal, and I don't believe it has anything to do with God. No other religion requires such isolation. A choice like that has to be a cover-up for some serious problem.
The priesthood is an escape from the world the rest of us inhabit, and until that changes, you'll always find the oddballs and misfits under those robes.

The Christian Right hates gay people so much for one simple reason, they make money off of it. It is a great organizing tool, now that communism is gone, and abortion isn't on the forefront anymore. I still think that coming out to these folks, if they trult don't know any gay folks, and putting a face on the people they hate is the most effective tool. Dehumanizing us is the tactic they use. Gays are the new Jews to these terrorists.

actually, i read this article where pink supposedly produces a temporary calming effect, although prolonged exposure tends to lead to increased aggravation.

"I love the Christian right's perception of homosexuality as a "lifestyle," like it's something we decided to pick up while shopping."
AOL did the same thing a few years ago before it went under...
AOL did go under, didn't it?
Well... if it didn't it sure as hell should've by now, the way it manages to lose money (at least drunken sailors buy something to show for it... look at all the gay bars in ports they frequent).
"Bullshit! There's only two reasons men would choose to be priests. One is to be able to wear dresses in public, and the other is so they can rape little boys."
Soooo... what's wrong with that? As long as Dubya stacks the Supremes with five of my boys i'll continue to do as i damn well please! Dubya's Fourth Reich will reign supreme for a thousand years (this i learned from my many years in the Hitler Youth).
