Over 100 people took part in a strange New York tradition yesterday — the pants-less subway ride. Several were arrested. May we suggest the tradition be altered next year? How about the Speedo Santa Subway Ride?
Aussie swimmer Ian Thorpe (the Thorpedo) signs $10 million Adidas deal.

John Waters speaks out about Brokeback Mountain at Sundance: "It's a good gay movie. It's probably the most positive gay movie ever made. The right wing is correct: It's a great recruitment tool. I've never seen any gay cowboys that were that cute."
Is Richard Hatch proving himself as wily a defendant as he was a contestant? The Survivor winner dropped a bombshell in court on Friday at his tax evasion trial, claiming that the producers made a secret agreement to pay the taxes on his winnings if he kept quiet about the fact that contestants had cheated on the show by sneaking food. Contestants are denying that ever happened, while some cameramen are saying just the opposite.

NYDN Widdicombe: New Marlon Brando bio details the actor's wild sex life, including "a (literally) jaw-dropping scene on page 320, involving Peter Lawford, another actor and 'a motor trip to Palm Springs'". For fantasy purposes, we'll just hope this incident occurred more toward the Streetcar period than the Godfather one.

Has anyone ever confirmed that when Brando and Wally "Mr Peepers" Cox were roommates early in their careers, Brando was the leather bottom and Wally Cox was the dominant top?
Or is that just gay urban legend?

You know I never knew who John Waters was until I saw his film series on here! Networks.
Needless to say, I think I've found myself a new kindred spirit. Sorry, Anne G.

Coming from Waters, who has made a career of presenting Gays as ugly drag queens, simpering wimps, and drug addicted hustlers, I don't consider his evaluation of Brokeback much of a compliment.
Waters is an artistic genius. Twisted, but a genius. Unfortunately, his genius is painted with a heavy coat of self-loathing. If more people saw Gay men the way Waters sees us, we'd be the most reviled group of people in the world.
Having John Waters approval of a film is like having Andrea Yates approval of your child care methods. It's a little scary.
