I Love New York's 12 Pack: "I'm Not Gay"
I Love New York's bodybuilding contestant "12 Pack" (aka Dave Amerman), whose last employment was as a dancer at a gay club, tells Hip-Hop DX: "You don’t realize that you have haters until you see the show. It was hilarious to me to hear people say that I’m gay; down right funny as hell. Man, I’ll put it straight out there… I’m not gay. I’m not in one way possible gay. My last employment is nothing. My ex-girl came to the house! She was fuckin’ hot; blonde and I did her when I got home. People hated on me though."

I LOVE NEW YORK is a guilty pleasure. Well, pleasure may not be the right word but, like a car crash, I can't stop watching. The show is rife with homophobia. 12 Pack's comments above are the least of it. The show is worth viewing once just to see Chamo, New York's Assistant. His over-the-top portrayal of gay stereotypes is not to be believed.

This is one of my favorite shows on TV right now. New York is without a doubt one of the best reality TV characters ever.
Personally, I thought the show handled the revelation pretty well. 12-pack was a total cheesball but also a likeable guy. The way the guys acted when they found out he had been a dancer at a gay strip club (not just a go-go boy at a dance club) was normal. They were all in competition and looking for ways to knock out other players. He took their razzing pretty well. Better than most of the other douchebags on the show would of done. And his comment about going home to "bang the sh*t" out of his ex-girlfriend was hilarious!

Don't forget, viewers, that 12-Pack said the only reason he tried out for the show was to get into movies in Hollywood! And New York overheard him say that to his ex-girlfriend. THAT is why he got booted.
But the funny thing to me is that 12-Pack will probably have to call Cpl. Matt Sanchez and get directions to Hollywood.
