Gay Porn Models Charged with Murder of Producer

Two gay porn actors have been arrested for the murder of gay porn producer Bryan Kocis in January. Harlow Raymond Cuadra, 25 (left), and Joseph Manuel Kerekes, 33 (right) have been charged with criminal homicide, conspiracy to commit criminal homicide, abuse of corpse, robbery, burglary, theft and two counts of arson. They were taken into custody in their home town of Virginia Beach and are being held at the Virginia Beach Detention Center.

In January, firefighters responded to a fire at Kocis' home in Pennsylvania where they discovered the producer's body. His throat had been slit and he had been stabbed 28 times before his killers burned the body.

According to the Virginian Pilot, "The affidavit claims that the motive for the crime was money. Cuadra and Kerekes, the affidavit says, believed Kocis to be their main rival in the lucrative gay pornography business, and they wanted Kocis out of the way so they could form a relationship with Kocis' main pornography star, Sean Lockhart, who is known in the gay film industry as Brent Corrigan (right)."

The Times-Leader reports: "The investigation took a dramatic turn three weeks ago when investigators electronically intercepted conversations the two men had with Sean Lockhart and Grant Roy in San Diego. Lockhart is a former model for Kocis’ company, Cobra Video, and is a partner with Roy in LSG Media, a San Diego-based company that markets gay pornographic movies...According to the criminal complaints, investigators recorded a conversation near a hotel in San Diego on April 27 in which Roy asked if Kocis 'felt any pain.' Cuadra leaned toward Lockhart and said, 'Don’t worry, he went quick.'"

In February, after investigators had fingered Harlow as a suspect, he told the Scranton Times-Tribune that he did not know Kocis and was "freaked out" that his photo was part of a murder investigation. Guess he had good reason.

12. and what's the point of being fixated on him, really? He was *one person*. We still have Ralph Reed, Pat Robertson, James Dobson, Fred Phelps, Phyllis Schafly, various nutcases in the Republican Party, various journos, etc. And he did his damage and that's going to last for a long time-most likely longer than out lifetimes. So his dying of natural causes after a long, damaging life makes no difference in the general scheme of things-he helped foment a movement which will be hard to counteract. It's not like we finally broke him down and ended his life ourselves.

16. The porn aspect of this case is pretty salacious, but it's important to remember that there are screwed up people out there in all areas of society, not just porn.

    Most of the murder/corpse burning events have nothing to do with gays, porn or any other facet of the adult industry.

21. I think stabbing someone 28 times and lighting them ablaze warrants the death penalty, gay or straight, if there is a death penalty in existence. (I'm not wildly pro- or con-death penalty.) It's funny to me how many Brent Corrigan fanboys were defending him like NO WAY could he be involved. Uh, chatting with the murderers about the murder = balls-deep involvement. They all deserve whatever they get. As for Falwell, I think it's a good point that there are others, but ultimately, Falwell was the #1 on that side. Period. He invented the Moral Majority, he is the original "God's revenge" AIDS guy, he was the one-man vast right-wing conspiracy to which Hillary Clinton famously and correctly alluded. Maybe Pat Robertson is #2. There will always be others, but decapitating blows are helpful in shaking things up. So allz I'm sayin' is I'm happy about it.

    I'll be sickened if they are gay. I don't know why gay people can't stop and think about what they are and how self-hate is pumped into the community by outsiders to create disfunction. We need to rise above it no matter how hard it is. This self-hate that is pumped into the community is responsible for risk-taking behavior like drug abuse, unprotected sex, and violence.

    Can you conspire a murder and then plea bragain out of any justice?

29. Jake - I think the language of the post makes it vague as to whether or not Brent and Grant were involved in the murder. Sounds as if it could have been a sting, where they knew Harlow and Joseph were involved and wanted to nab them. Brent's been beset by so much to do with Brian and Cobra, it only makes sense that he would want to clear his own name by helping the police. Though, the whole notion of "intercepting" the conversation does leave some doubt, doesn't it?

    Brent's blog is the first place I went after reading this item, and there's nothing on there, unsurprisingly. Guilty or innocent, accessory to crime or accomplice of the police, I'm sure his lawyers are urging silence at this moment.

30. It's hard to tell from the story, but I'm betting that the police asked Brent and his partner to set these guys up. It does sound like a typical police way of doing it. Get people the suspects are comfy with and then get them to admit something in a tapped conversation. Happens all the time to the pro's(ie: the Mafia).

36. Just wanted to say, I was right, I said that the Kerekes guy looked like he could have did it...Harlow was the setup man. The irony that 'Brent Corrigan' made a deal right before the murders may have been a way to throw off suspicion. Sure, Brent and Roy were involved...but they'll probably get off in exchange for testifying against the other two. The police, as usual, aren't interested in 'justice' but a conviction. Playing two off against the other two is the way to 'win' these prosecution games. So, Brent gets off scot-free.

    Now, I'd like to mention that being 'gay' is just one aspect of one's personality. Gays come in all shapes, sizes, kinds, and personalities. Harlow, at least, seems to be genuinely gay, based on his love with Sean Lockhart at the beach. Ok, two gay guys killed another gay guy. Last I checked, black-on-black violence was common. And didn't that HETERO woman in Texas just hang her three children?

    One more comment: gotta admit Harlow is HOT and Brent/Sean is too. The older Kerekes and Roy, forget about.
