  1. Gay men are always at the forefront of trends. Now junior-high school girls booty bump crystal.

  2. Is it just me or when it said Judge Judy talks about a booty bump were you thinking of something totally different!?

  3. that colton ford song was surprisingly hot. good for him.

  4. re: Colton Ford song/video. just the opposite - completely generic. toss in a hot body and yep, another "gay icon." musically as meaningful as paris hilton's last single.

  5. Mr. Ford really can sing! It may not have been ABBA, but it was pretty darned good in my book.

  6. it reminded me abit of Nick Kamen, which ain't all bad.

  7. I was surprised that the Coulton Ford song sounded as good as it did. The video sucked (edited shots inside an alley?? How low budget can you get?), but I'll tell you one thing;
I would rather listen to Ford's cookie-cutter club track than Mika's entire album ANY DAY!

  8. oh come on. That Colton Ford thing was hilarious. A tinny synthesized overdubbed voice and a music track straight out of someone's PC. And the roid pumped ken-doll "singing"? Dead funny.

  9. JPerth, I'm sure the track was done on a Mac.

  10. Ford REALLY should stick to porn if that's the best he can turn out. The man has a good voice but that track didn't do him justice and the video was actually painful to watch.

  11. With the Ford video I noticed it was 3 minutes in before you got any gay bona fides. Other than that it was very generic.

  12. My favorite part of that speech by Bush was when he said, "I know Americans are tired of the war. They have war fatigue... it's effecting our psychology."

'Our psychology'?! It's effecting our study of human behavior?

God, Bush is a f'n' idiot.

  13. RP,

I think you mean "affecting" not "effecting".

    Sorry I couldn't help it. :)

    Posted by: soulbrotha | Jul 14, 2007 2:01:01 AM

  14. Actually, since 'psychology' is not an emotion it is 'effecting'. 'Affecting' is the ability to stir emotion. 'Effecting' is to cause change.

    Sorry I couldn't help it. :)

  15. I loved the Ford song. That it was (hotly) delivered by a pumped up roid doll matters little to me. Though, clearly, I am in love with Ford's biceps as much as HE is.

    Posted by: rjmarch | Jul 14, 2007 10:34:32 AM

  16. RP,
I don't think that is correct. Several sites that I checked had this explanation:

"affect" is a verb meaning "to influence," and "effect" is a noun meaning "result" or "consequence." For example, "The noise "affects" my concentration," but "his threats had no "effect" on the people upstairs." However, "effect" can also be a verb that means "to bring about": "The President will "effect" a new tax program."

According to these definitions, the proper word is "affecting", because you are not "bringing about" psychology, you are influencing it.

  17. Yeah, Soulbrotha, you're correct. RJ is confusing the noun and verb forms of "affect".

Colton Ford is super hot, and actually has a nice enough voice. The song isn't exactly groundbreaking, but it's not bad either. It's the over-mixed, over-dubbed quality of the finished product that's so irritating. The multiple vocal tracks aren't in tune with each other, creating out-of-tune chord structures that just never quite lock up. It would have been better had he had some backup singers instead of trying to use multiple tracks of his own voice.

That said, I loved how his junk was highlighted in each and every pair of pants he wore in the video. When you're that hot, I guess it's okay to use a cheap set. Why gild the lily?

  18. I'll agree to disagree. However, you are looking at the present tense of both words. Their future tense have different meanings.

  19. Helen Thomas is hot! Dance to that, you muthers!

    Posted by: domo | Jul 15, 2007 4:56:37 PM

  20. Nevermind. I concede that you are right, and I was wrong.

I’m going to sheepishly make my way towards the corner with a dunce cap on now.

Irrelevant side note: When spending the weekend in DC, do not leave your iPod in the care before giving the keys to a valet. You might not see your iPod ever again. :(

    Posted by: RP | Jul 15, 2007 11:00:51 PM

  21. Correction: 'car' not 'care' obviously

    Posted by: RP | Jul 15, 2007 11:02:49 PM

  22. saw coulton ford perform at splash a few weeks ago--he sucked big time. least he was hot and he had hot almost naked backup dancers. but his performance was weak
