Big Brother 8 Uncensored
For those who aren't already aware that there's an entirely different version of Big Brother that goes unbroadcast, here's a bigotry sampler from the live feeds.
More from Reality Blurred: "Meanwhile, in a very recent conversation, some of the houseguests reveal more about being “harassed” by the Diary Room producers. “I was definitely, like, harassed into saying things today that I did not want to say,” Dustin says. Jameka says, “Harassed? What do you mean? DR? It’s horrible. It’s that one. She makes you say stuff, and I’m like, I don’t want to say that, and I’m not going to.” As if to prove their point that something nefarious is going on and the producers have something to hide, someone pulls the plug on the live feeds at that exact moment. The show is called Big Brother, after all."

Just goes to show you it's ALL about ratings, and they will most likely stoop to nothing to boost them, which is evident by the idiots they get as contestents each year (but yet we curiously still watch).
If they really want ratings, they need someone like me in there. I'm sure I could deliver their highest rated shows yet (especially without my psych meds), but would prefer a lot more hunky guys and bitchy ho's to fight with (+ a full bar).
And ditch that Julie Chen...they need someone like Kathy Griffin to host, though Julie isn't going anywhere.
Next year, a good idea would be "Big Brother - REVENGE"...and pit houseguest against each other toward the end (by the time they all hate each other anyway). Kinda like "Mr & Mrs Smith" but less lethal. That'd be fun!

Ugh. Those people are fucking revolting.
Posted by: Tread | Aug 17, 2007 1:47:44 PM
It may be revolting..but its America. Conversations like this are going on across the country on a daily basis. If these people feel comfortable enough to say these things amongst complete strangers, in front of video cameras..imagine what they say in the privacy of their homes amongst friends.
My biggest complaint about the show is that the twists suck. The Americas Player twist is ok this time..but the twist with them knowing people already was stupid. If they do a twist like that again, they need to have the entire house be affected. The Ex Factor and this one only affected a few people and really Jessica/Carol werent affected at all. Who cares if some random girl from high school is in the house with you??

Thanks for posting this montage, Andy. What Dustin reveals he calls his dog at the end of the clip is mindboggling, and proof that CBS only cares about money or they would have kicked his AND Amber's racist ass out of the house before the remaining roommates did.
Posted by: Leland Frances | Aug 17, 2007 1:55:27 PM
I'm disappointed in Dustin, he should know better....he's off now anyway, so guess it doesn't matter now.
Posted by: AngryCitizen | Aug 17, 2007 1:57:23 PM
How can anybody understand what Amber is saying? Isnt she always crying?
Posted by: Gregoire | Aug 17, 2007 2:12:03 PM
The racism this year is horrible. I feel so bad for Jameka, because Dustin would have NEVER told her that to her face.
Posted by: iamglory | Aug 17, 2007 2:19:13 PM
oh please, Jameka is the worst one of the hole bunch.

Dustin says, "[My dog] is black, so I call her — this is so bad — I call her a nigger bitch.” And, Ambers says, "A nigger bitch? I don’t care; that’s funny,” and YOUR biggest complaint about the show, KitKat, is that the twists suck????
Well, thanks for showing us what a truly caring, intelligent, sociopolitically involved person YOU are. Hurl!
Posted by: Leland Frances | Aug 17, 2007 2:33:48 PM
None of that is shown on the actual show. So yes, as far as the actual show, my biggest complaint is the twists. As for the racism, like I said, there are worse things being said in the living rooms of people across America. I dont watch the live feeds so I really dont care what they say on there.

As usual, Leland, you're amazingly quick with condemning everyone else in the world, and amazingly unconcerned with the context in which things are said.

Last night, as Dustin was being interviewed by Julie, he referred to Eric as being "shiesty" - and that's a quote. Julie didn't say a word.
Posted by: Bill | Aug 17, 2007 3:02:53 PM
Bill: So? Shiesty is not a bad word.
From dictionary.com:
in Entry: sheisty
Part of Speech: adj
Definition: suspicious, shady; sneaky; also written shiesty, shysty
Example: He's a sheisty guy.
Etymology: 1993; fr shyster
Usage: slang
Posted by: kitkats99 | Aug 17, 2007 3:08:59 PM
...actually i think "Shysty" (and sheister) is derived from shakespeare's Shylock the Moneylender... so it's definitely a borderline word to bandy about.

After reading all the comments on here about this show, I finally tried to watch it last night for a few minutes. What a freakin' train wreck! Sorry, guys, but I had a hard time finding a single redeeming quality in any of the characters, and the whole vapid "everybody votes on who is kicked out" sequence at the end felt like a little slice of an eternity in TV hell.

"so it's definitely a borderline word to bandy about."
I would be concerned, except that I think that Dustin is not very bright (observe his choice of men and friends inside the house) and thus probably doesnt even know who Shylock is.
Jameka is one of the worst people in the house. She essentially uses God as a good luck charm, and derides others in the house who dont practice their faith in quite the same way she does. (re: her reaction to Daniele).

It will be interesting to see if Dustin, gets turned into the next gaylebrity (d list) and if so will he be called on his shit. Though he is no Nick I actually thought he was kind cute until he proved otherwise.
And KitKat, I think Shiesty is generally thought to be antisemitic especially when applied to Jews.

I used to have this friend who had a black Doberman that he called "nigger" when his friends were over his house. I remember he did it a few times in front of me one day and I was like, "are you fucking kidding me?"
Kit is right, people talk like that all the time, just not publicly. I don't know what offended me more, him speaking that way in front of me, or him thinking that behaviour was acceptable because, and only because, he was around friends.
Other than that, did anyone think Big Brother wasn't tooled? It's like people who still assume The Real World is "real."

The word 'shyster' is most likely NOT derived from the Shakespearean character. Most linguists believe that it derives from the German verb 'scheissen', which means 'to shit', and at times, 'to fool'. We have a similar construct in English, when we use "Are you shitting me?" to mean "Are you trying to trick me?".

Ok....I am a weak person. After swearing never to watch a reality show, I was talked into watching this show this past week.
Not only is the whole thing a scripted set up....it's pathectic.
That thing they are doing with the **America's Player** is a total set up....I don't believe the instructions come from America, just the shows producers. And that total asshole Dick not being voted out is another set up, he's good for the ratings and they weren't going to let him go.
So, after 1 and a half weeks of this farce....it's dunzo and I have filled my reality show quiotient for the next 60 years.

Sheisty is not antisemItic unless you are using it in a negative way against a jewish person. i too believe that it comes from the german word sheiss which means "to shit"
Its just like the word "nappy" that Don Imus used. Nappy is not a bad word. It just means something with a thick texture. Its the fact that he strung together the words "nappy-headed-hoes" that made it a negative word.

Andy, this show sucks. It's really that simple. It's mindless drivel and a complete waste of air time. I have enjoyed Big Brother in the past but this crew lost my interest at episode 1. Boring bunch of idiots and from what i see on Towleroad I haven't missed a thing.
Posted by: JerzeeMikw | Aug 17, 2007 5:51:30 PM
Gee, I've watched it for the past few years, and I've never enjoyed it more than this season. Guess I'm the only one. It seems like they finally have the formula down. I don't care how fake it is, just like I don't care that Fellini's Roma is totally fake. I would be disappointed if the contestants weren't vapid and obnoxious stereotypes. It's painful, pragmatic truth we're after, just like Jerry Springer in it's violent heydey. It's America, baby. Be disgusted and check yourself, that's the point.
