Killer of Gay Canadian Bartender Caught After Massive MAnhunt
Jesse Norman Imeson, 22, suspected of strangling a bartender who worked at Windsor, Canada's The Tap after applying for a stripper job there hours earlier, has been caught in Quebec after a cross-country manhunt. During the pursuit, Imeson also took the lives of an elderly couple caught in the fray.
"The manhunt began on July 19, when Windsor bartender Carlos Rivera (below, left) was found strangled to death in Mr. Imeson's apartment. Four days later, elderly couple Bill and Helene Regier were found shot to death in their farmhouse near Mount Carmel, Ont., about 50 kilometres northwest of London...It was also learned yesterday that, hours before allegedly strangling Mr. Rivera, who tended bar at a gay nightclub, Mr. Imeson showed up there looking for a job as a stripper. Eddie An, who runs The Tap, said Mr. Imeson came to the bar on July 17 wanting to dance. 'He was filling out an application form, but he didn't have his ID, so we couldn't finish it,' Mr. An said. 'He said he forgot it at home and would come back the next day. He stayed and had a few drinks, just as a patron.'"
Nick Cesljar, a friend who had "partied" with Mr. Imeson over a number of months and brought him to The Tap to apply for a job, said that Imeson's intentions were unclear: "He was just looking at the money, I guess. He got the idea he can get more money dancing for guys rather than dancing for girls, because guys, being perverts, they'll pay more. That's how it began."
Imeson was caught after breaking into a home in Portage du Fort, about 100 kilometres northwest of Ottawa, where he was surprised by the owner.

I wish the clubs would be a more discriminating, the dancers have gotten a lot straighter and a LOT more mercenary.
It's almost like going back to rough trade days, where you are expected to pay for the privilege of worshipping someone who thinks of you as a piece of $hit with money.
Very sadly, looks like teh bartender should've been more discriminating also...

What truly disgusting comments from both Becks and Mike.
The senseless loss of a life is heartbeaking and infuriating, regardless if the victim is an iconic fashion designer or a bartender. Carlos is a former boyfriend of mine and, to the people that knew him, he was more than just a bartender. His death marks the end of a life full of energy, warmth, and creativity. There is nothing sadder than that.

Yes, I think it's very troubling that some of us respond to these brutal murders with such callous and insensitive remarks. It only fuels the stereotypical belief that Americans think their lives are worth more than "foreign" ones.
As for the dressing down comment... I think it's worth pointing out that Canada is still a largely small-town, rural country (outside of Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver). It is also mostly working-class and values egalitarianism. As such, Canadians tend to be far more casual than the upscale parts of the U.S.
There's very little pressure to wear Prada, Versace, Armani, Louis Vutton, and so forth. Sweatshirts and sports jerseys are typical Canadian attire.

The killer was going gay-for-pay to buy drugs.
Funny thing about gay-for-pay. I remember in middle school and high school all the losers egging the other guys if they would suck a dick for a million dollars. Naturally the answer at that age would be "no" if you planned to survive high school.
Now with all the "straigth guys" doing gay porn (because they are dead broke) the funny answer is that it's not $1M but about $5K and it goes way beond sucking dick...and all for what? To support their drinking/smoking/drug habit? And then when they realize how shitty their lives have become they go out and kill someone who by no choice of their own is gay.
What a fucking world we live in. But then again gay guys will also clamour up to redressing their high school experiences, even if that means getting the high school jock.

What's with all you guys jumping on Becks and Mike? I thought the comments were funny, and it doesn't take away from my sympathy for the victims. Towleroad comments are regularly filled with wishes of death on all kinds of people, and none of you get on your high horses.

I was reading this, and I agree with some of you, like someone said he's got the eyes of a killer, and he doesn't. If you look closely. the pupil is bigger than his eyes colour. Where as a crazy, physcotic persons' eyes have larger pupils and eyes are dark.
Over all, I have done alot of research, and I am finding him innoccent, and guilty. He did kill these 3 people, but he has a strong motive. I have not enough evidence to state his motive, but if you disagree, comment. I engoy reading your...crude remarks :)
