Republicans Faced with Dilemma Over Larry Craig
Republicans have no idea what to do with the Senator from Idaho who is digging in his heels:
"The Idaho Republican's decision gives his GOP colleagues two unpleasant choices. They can resume pressuring him to leave, and risk being seen as disloyal politicians who go harder on alleged homosexual misdeeds than on heterosexual wrongdoings. Or they can basically ignore him for months, and endure more TV comics' taunts about a conservative senator convicted in a case involving public bathroom stalls. Judging from comments in the first hours after Craig's announcement, Republican senators seemed unsure exactly where to land. Outright confrontation with Craig, however, seems unlikely."
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who has branded Craig's conduct as "unforgivable", canceled a press conference yesterday and declined comment on Craig's recent decision.

Is Larry our first out Gay US Senator?
I mean I know he denies it, but apart from the BS, does the fact stand?

The fact has a Wide Stance.

No, DC, we've got explain to the people that sucking dicks in funky men's rooms does not make him gay. Now, if he were a tranny, then he'd be gay. Right?
Seriously, is it beneath a liberal to gloat? After 40 years of Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Gingrinch, DeLay, Papa & Baby Bush (even a little Clinton at times), I've gotta' right to gloat.

"Outright confrontation with Craig, however, seems unlikely."
Outright confrontation with any issue seems to policy with the Republicans. They find professional hatemongers to handle internal enemies, and the sons of the poor to deal with the externals. That leaves them plenty of time to cope with lunch and their mistress of the week.

If we are really gonna walk the walk, we should not pile on this guy for his sexual desires and needs. His sexual preference should in no way determine if he is capable of representing his constituents as long as they want him to. If they want a lying, homophobic, in-denial guy representing them, they deserve it. Someone should resign because they are embarassed? Puhlease. I mean, NEWS FLASH, tea-room queen gets busted. Big whoop.

Seems that the Repugs should take a few notes from Sir Norman Fry on Little Britain:

As a Democrat, I want to personally thank Larry Craig for this early Christmas present. I'm certain the prospect of 16 more months of very public jokes revolving around the current occupant of a Republican-held U.S. Senate
seat is going to do wonders for Republicans in 2008! Larry Craig epitomizes the “anything to stay in power” ethic adopted by Republicans in the last several years, and I’m glad he intends to remind voters of GOP moral bankruptcy all the way until November, 2008. Thanks Larry!

after his fellow GOPers turned on him, Larry is showing them now that you can't push around this angry conservative queen. I dare the Senate Republicans to launch a full ethics committee investigation because of the bad publicity it will produce for weeks. in some ways, they would be better off to ignore Larry and try to forget this ever happened.
