Merv Griffin's Final Broadcast

Griffin

Legendary TV Titan and Hollywood closet case Merv Griffin, who died last August, was buried in Westwood Village Memorial Park in Los Angeles alongside several other tinseltown legends, and his gravestone has reportedly been attracting plenty of visitors.

You certainly can't say he didn't have a sense of humor.

  1. All gay people have a sense of humor...sometimes you don't realize it 'till after they're dead. Merve was a Cancer, hunh? That explains a lot. Well, female Cancers are terrific. You have to work with Cancer guys...work hard, honey.

  2. If this is what he wanted, more power to him.

Currently, I want my epitaph to say "It's a dick in a box."

  3. I remember a magazine ad in the early 80s, a full page b&w headshot of Merv with the headline, "The best face lift in Beverly Hills!" Under his pic was a small color photo of "The new lobby of the Beverly Hilton Hotel." God bless his big gay closeted heart...

  4. After his death, it was reported that if you were gay and worked for Merv you had to keep your sexual orientation under wraps otherwise he'd fire you. And he was a huge supporter of George W Bush. In an interview with Merv in Rolling Stone a few months prior to his death he discussed his friendship with George W and Laura saying, among other things, that George W was just 'trying to protect us from terrorists'. Merv Griffin was a creep...good riddance!

  5. I, PeePee, speak ill of the dead and if you are a Republican you ESPECIALLY deserve to die because I, PeePee, am intolerant of Republicans!

    I, PeePee, have spoken!

  6. I don't understand how Merv could have voted Republican if he was gay. Don't people understand that, unless you are a straight, white Christian male, who makes at least $100,000 a year, you are voting against your own interests? It's so ridiculous.

  8. Merv and Fancy Nancy Reagan used to do each other's nails back during the Reagan years. Merv was always a "conservative" and pathetically closeted. But, he was a hugely successful man who was able to live his live on the DL and get away with it. I think the media ignored that aspect of his life simply because it was uninteresting. I mean, Merv never was that sexy or attractive, even in his younger years. Merv still had his fun, though, and ordered his rent boys when he needed them.
