Meet the Men of Vancouver's Next Gay Top Model

Tm

Vancouver's Next Gay Top Model is a competition sponsored by local organizers in Vancouver benefiting a charity called Friends for Life. They're holding a contest based on the TV show to find Vancouver's next top gay...model.

Videos of the 12 finalists have been posted to YouTube, and, well, you can't really argue with the "gay" part of the title. Here are two of the tongue-in-cheek "introduction" videos.

Ten more are AFTER THE JUMP...

  1. I liked the tanning guy, the eyebrow guy and the guy who stumbles. They carried off their bits well.

  2. They look like zombie clones. What ever happened to individuality? Gay men are supposed to stick out and yet all they do is conform.

  3. Eew. Just...eew.

  4. I agree with Sam - they did well - love the guy tripping the most! Too funny.

  5. Is this competition being sponsored by a blind eyebrow waxer?

  6. I wish these shows would just end the bullshit & stop throwing in the obligatory "colored person" who everyone KNOWS will be "voted out" by the 3rd week. Enough with that insulting nonsense already! Sheesh!

  7. Is there really a difference between the Next Gay Top Model and the regular Next Top Model other than the fact that the former plays up the stereotypes more?

  8. umm.... Next Gay Bottom Model, methinks.

  9. I love that in a city that probably has about a 40% Asian population, they manage to find one token representative for the competition. You can't swing a dead cat in Vancouver without hitting a hot Asian guy. Unfortunately the stereotype of the ultimate hot gay guy is white (or Brazilian) is perpetuated by most gay media and blogs, so it's not shocking. Yet, still sad.

  14. FYI: These are not professional models. They are just members of the local community participating in a charity event for fun. So let's not be too negative and hard on them. That said, you are putting yourself out there if you compete in an event like this. Good luck to all, especially Christopher!

  15. Geez, what a bunch of negative nellies around here. The ethnic make-up of this group of volunteers reflects the backgrounds of all the guys who tried out for the contest. We don't as a general rule in Vancouver force every single gay black/asian/native/off-white or paraplegic member of our community into these charity events - they show up on their own.

More power to all of them!

  16. lol - Thats F*@kin funny!! I think the tripping guy is the best...but Tanning guy is a close second!! Good on all of you for having the Balls!!!

  17. All these guys are soooooooo average looking and girly. I just don't understand why they behave like little girls. Being gay does not mean that one has to try to become a woman....

None of these guys are goodlooking and even if they were goodlooking I would still not find them attractive. I like a real man not a little woman
