Enrique Iglesias Hugs Male Fan who Rushed Him

Enrique Iglesias played the Imperial Festival in La Guaciama, Costa Rica yesterday and was surprised by a male fan who rushed the stage during his performance. Iglesias, rather than call security on the young man, put his arm around him and continued singing. It's not the first time the singer has responded warmly to his male fans.

  3. This is one reason why I'm a big Enrique fan and an owner of several of his CD's. A real class act, comfortable in his skin and secure in his masculinity. Bravo, Enrique!

  5. Enrique simply proves that there is NO reason to treat another person gay, straight, black, brown or whatever with anything but respect and care!

  6. Most other performers would have been horrified at the possibilities of a fan rushing up onto the stage and made this a very ugly scene. Enrique turned the whole thing around, with a little respect and some basic appreciation for his fans.

Other entertainers should be taking notes.

  10. whatever. he's lucky the "fan" didn't pull a knife out and stab him. celebrities are always at risk--think of all the celebs who have been murdered/harmed on stage/tennis court/etc...

  11. @HMMM,

you have a point, and i share your concern. but, don't his trust and openess bespeak his heart? he is a good man who is very easy on the eyes. what more can anyone ask?

  16. I was there on Sunday and for the record, the fan didn't rush upstage.. security was waaay too strict to manage such a stunt.

Enrique came downstage and while singing, asked the fan to come up with him and sing. They even shared tequila shots and toasted "for Costa Rica".
    It was pretty awesome.

After the male fan identified as Freddy returned to be amongst the crowd, Enrique came down again and even took a camera from a fan's hand, took a picture of the stage and then tossed it back to her.
    I loved his concert. XD

  17. I adore Enrique Iglesias. When he serenaded that gay fan in London, I became a fan for life.

I wish Enrique would have a talk with Ricky Martin and convince him to come out.
