Kinky Details Emerge in Richard Quest Arrest
On Saturday, the New York Post added a few details to the report on CNN reporter Richard Quest's early Friday morning arrest:
"CNN personality Richard Quest was busted in Central Park early yesterday with some drugs in his pocket, a rope around his neck that was tied to his genitals, and a sex toy in his boot, law-enforcement sources said... Quest was initially busted for loitering, the source said. Aside from the oddly configured rope, the search also turned up a sex toy inside of his boot, and a small bag of methamphetamine in his left jacket pocket. It wasn't immediately clear what the rope was for."
As the result of a hearing at Manhattan Criminal Court, the misdemeanor charges against Quest will be dropped after he undergoes six months of drug counseling, which will lead to an "adjournment in contemplation of dismissal."

I really have to wonder though- the ONLY source for the rope/sextoy part is the ever-homophobic NY Post. It's possible, but it's also possible they maliciously made up that detail, betting that Quest would be too embarrassed by the whole incident to sue or demand a retraction. Just a thought.

There are far too many venues (bathhouses, sex clubs, your home, a hotel room) for a gay man to partake in his sexual desires and adventures "indoors" in a city such as New York as with many major cities across the world.

Erik, what I'm presuming about the rope, which was tied around his neck (not in a noose presumably but loosely) and then tied tightly around his cock and balls is that it gives him the opportunity during sex to hyperextend his back from the hip flexors and feel a tug on his genitalia.
If there was indeed a rope, as reported by the Post, who you can't always trust as one of their RNC member employees who's deep in the closet just might have seen this in an old late 70s porn film and projected.

Okay...you didn't hear it from me, but Mr. Quest has been a long-time guest at several of NY's more notorious kink-sex-meth soirees just like many MANY other bold-faced named people in high-profile media, corporate, and arts positions. It doesn't make him a bad person, but I'll never understand why anyone would jeopardize their careers like that, because, the gays, ya' know, like their gossip!

The original quote is, "There but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford." There is a much later quote, playing on that idea, attributed to Oscar Wilde: "There but for the god of grace, go I." -- supposedly said when he witnessed someone commiting a social blunder.
In this situation, I think Wilde's quote is more appropriate. That's all i meant.
