Boy George to Perform Free Concert for NYC Sanitation Department

Boy George yesterday announced he'll perform a free August 17th concert for workers at New York City's Department of Sanitation, with whom he was sentenced to work following his 2005 arrest for cocaine possession.
George released a statement through his publicist: "The people I worked alongside showed great kindness to me at a very difficult time, and I wanted to thank them all in a way that would show my appreciation"
George turns 47 on Saturday. He'll be touring the U.S. this summer.
The shot above right, is from last night's opening of thee RS lounge in London, where he DJ'ed. More on that at Popbytes.
And as a bonus to yesterday's 1984 vintage Madonna clip, check out the clip of a Boy George look-alike contest in Sydney, from the same year, AFTER THE JUMP...

And has he yet paid back the thousands of dollars he owed Care Resource, the Miama AIDS agency, for the advance they paid him to perform at their 2005 White Party for which he was a noshow?

Naomi Campbell could learn a lot from George.
You should all check out his autobiography, as it's really quite good. One of the best parts is when he discusses Gavin Rossdale (Mr. Gwen Stefani) and his love-affair with the 80's drag queen Marilyn.

Yes, I believe Mr. George did pay back the money. And then, donated some on top of that.

Paul, Naiomi Campbell could learn a lot from about 99% of human beings. And how would she say thanks for her public service? Doing a free catwalk? Donating some of the spare outlets from her overstuffed closets? (Jeez, imagine how many clothes most models have. Seriously, they must be given several a day from various designers.)
Ahh, whatever happened to Marilyn? Good thing for Gavin that Gwen has a few drag queen-like features.
