Gay Pride Busts Out in Warsaw, Rome, Milan, L.A., SLC, Alabama
With something to celebrate, Gay Pride was changed up a bit in Los Angeles this weekend (L.A. Times gallery and here's one from Bilerico). In Athens, Greece, the country's first newlyweds rode at the head of the parade.
Pride events were also held over the weekend in Salt Lake City, where crowds were larger this year, and in Birmingham, Alabama despite mayor Larry Langford taking an active stance against it. In Buffalo, New York, they came out in record numbers.
In Warsaw, Poland, 2,000 people paraded despite threats from extremist groups. Rome and Milan saw tens of thousands out in force at their respective events.

Was reading the article and surprised to see a McCain ad next to it. Did a double take in fact. Don't know enough about how these ads work to know if you specifically accepted the ad or some server at blogspot assigned it to my page randomly. Would love to hear more from you about. Any flavor of Dem seems apolitical enough but an R on a Gay blog. Again would be fascincated to learn your take on this. THX !

Hey, Just a short note about the AFP article on Warsaw Pride you have here.I know officials claimed that there were 2,000 people but in fact there were MANY more, closer to 5,000 (as someone working at the event I can confirm this). Also there might have been some extremist threats but they were minimal. Poland has it's fair share of homophobes, but trust me, Warsaw isn't such a den of danger! :)
