Barack Obama | Democratic Party | Michelle Obama

MoveOn, FOX has started a petition urging FOX to stop smearing Obama using "racism, prejudice, and fear" to combat recent on-air Obama/Osama comments, the "terrorist fist jab" incident and Michelle Obama being identified as "Obama’s baby mama."

Ironically, Obama seems to have "moved on" from MoveOn.

Meanwhile, John McCain is employing one of the infamous Swiftboat Veterans For "Truth" to combat an assault on his service record by Democrats. You know, the men he called "dishonest and dishonorable" back in 2004 when they went after John Kerry. The only reason the Swiftboaters were so effective in maiming Kerry in 2004 was the fact that their service created the impression of insider knowledge. In this case, their main function would be as a brand to attract skeptical right-wingers into the McCain fold.

We'll see if truth really does win out, and whose truth it will be.

  1. Anyone who supports or believes these jerks is a moron, so they should find a wide audience.

I've been reading more about how McCain was in fact a terrible soldier and pilot (got shot down at least four times). That doesn't negate the fact that he suffered tremendously as a POW, but I wonder if that news will ever reach a wide audience. He was captured, apparently, because of his poor evasive maneuvering skills. Had it not been for his father's rank, he would have been pulled from pilot duty.

  2. The funny thing aout th terrorist fist bump thingy is that there are pics of George bush Sr doing it wih a little white boy.

Fox is showing itself to not be a news source but rather just schizo bs on a soap box.

The more they do such, the more they loose viewers and people from the conservative movment. I am not saying that they are loosing viewers to iberal conversions, but many are questioning their own conservative mind set

  3. Lame move by MoveOn. Fox Noise ain't changin' shit 'til their ratings crash. The Fairness Doctrine is long dead and so is "fair and balanced" news reporting (in most case).

Nothing McCain does surprises me any more. He'll take all the help he can get at this point.

  4. How will Fox cover the fist bump now that Bush has done it?

  5. Murdoch's attack dogs never get reined in until his bottom line is seriously affected. The rare times his UK rag, The Sun, has moderated its behaviour have included being sued for libel by Elton John for a million pounds in damages and having the entire city of Liverpool boycott the paper after it printed lies about Liverpool football fans following the Hillsborough stadium disaster. I can't see Fox News changing at all until big advertisers start boycotting the station which seems unlikely.

  6. Chris

I'll see your bush jr fist bump pic and raise you a bush sr fist bump pic (no a white kid but a female tenis player)

In the case of the bushs, I would say they are real terrorists who have damaged america, theearth, the futre, etc

  7. Fox will turn up the heat as they should. The facts speak for themselves. Obama associates with terrorists, lunatics, radicals and criminals. Now he is trying to appeal to every demographic, cross party lines and he thinks he has something to offer evangelicals. The entire campaign is a joke and even CNN is calling BS on his campaign tactics which will ultimately backfire.

Everything Obama is doing are the acts of a man who is desperate and power hungry.

  9. Fox News, racist?!?

    Why do you hate America?

  10. "...his campaign tactics which will ultimately backfire."

Well, JOHNNY, you'd better hope they backfire before November 4 because they sure seem to be working right now.

Maybe Barack can convince those evangelicals that he is the Second Coming--he's got the right skin complexion for it. Right, JOHHNY?

  11. Well, Obama may associate with lunatics, and the Bushes may do the terrorist and-bump, but it is McCAIN WHO ASSOCIATED WITH TERRORISTS JUST LAST WEEK. He just had a fundraising dinner put on by Carl H. Lindner, Jr., a funder for a Columbian paramilitary organization that THIS Republican Administration classified as terrorist organization.

  12. "Terrorist fist jab"???? Gosh, I've just GOT to get out more! I never knew there was such a thing.

The gesture is kind of silly, but that's irrelevant to the demonization machine boiling over about Obama at Fox. And, you can bet your fresh laundered white sheets [with eye holes cut out] that racism is alive and well in the Fox den.

There's a smell, er echo, of what happened at the Olympics in 1968 when the two black American runners who won the Gold and Bronze, respectively, in the 200 mm event gave the "black power salute" and bowed their heads on the winners' podium during the playing of the "Star Spangled Banner."

You would have thought they had urinated on the Living Cross. They were booed in the stadium, vilified in the American press, received death threats, and expelled from the Olympics by racist, antiSemitic IOC head Avery Brundage.

40 years later there is still that homogenizing tendency among too many Americans that Fox is exploiting in focusing on irrelevant ways that the Obamas are "different from you and me." It's shameful, but it's less about race than power and Fox headcheese Roger Ailes, who was a media advisor to Nixon, Reagan, and Bush pere, as well as helping make Adolf Limbaugh a star, wants to maintain the power status quo in America which he fears an Obama administration would threaten.

It's only July. By November they will have helped trigger a virtual political mudslide.

  13. I guess that's why Fox completely demolishes ALL of the other news channels for news broadcasting ratings. That says it all, done. Hush up cry babies.

  14. Johnny Lane is correct. Barack is not the "hopenchange" candidate as first advertised; he's a rather standard dirty politician from Chicago that has very little success to speak of. And is so power hungrey that he thinks he should run the most powerful country in the world.

Plus Barack, evidenced in the debates & on the stump, doesn't seem to have a grasp of history. Jack Tapper @ ABC and others have logged so many historical and factual gaffes that Barack has made GWB look erudite!

Obama seems like a nice enough guy but he's been in the Chicago political cesspool for a long time. It's already coming out and it's only July. It's gonna get worse and it won't because FOX news is picking on him but because there is a lot there.

Just wait until they start on his association with ACORN & Louis Farrakan.

  15. This is to the first poster Paul-you should be ashamed of yourself criticizing McCaom's miliatary service.Say what you want about his politics but McCain is a hero. Aside from 6 yrs as a POW he saved several lives during the Forrestal fire.Unless you were sitting next to McCain while he was flying I don't think you can criticize his skills as pilot duty & in doing so you are criticizing every single military person who was shot down & was injured and/or lost their life in the line of duty.Did you or your sources serve w/ McCain or fly during a time of war while being shot at.If not you have no qualifications to comment on McCain's service.Comments which I feel are untrue but that isn't my point. How ungrateful do you have to be to trash a guy who would have given his life for his country. Did you know that the person who you are saying "had it not been for his father's rank, would have pulled from pilot duty" is also the person that because of his father's rank could have been released as a POW years prior but chose to stay w/ the others & follow the military code which states that prisoners are to be released in the order they are caputred. That is honor, courage & a love for one's country that 99% of could noever & even if we were put in that situation would never live up to.If I had a choice between being beaten & physically & mentally tortured or going home to my family I don't think I would be as brave as McCain to live by honor instead of convenience. Everything I have read about McCain lives up to my assessment & he is so humble about it.I have read the stories about what he & the men he was caputred w/ went through & I was horrified & moved to tears.I wondered why I hadn't heard about all the acts of patriotism McCain these men showed, including getting beaten for secretly saying the pledge of allegience everyday.McCain would have a lot more supporters if he bolstered & bragged about his time as a POW but that isn't his style. To him that was what he owed his country as a member of the military & was nothing special.I respect him even more for that & for the fact he doesn't brag about his son who is currently serving in the Iraq war.So my friend you need to shut up about McCain's military service. You want to talk trash then let's get into the fact that Obama won't even put his hand on his heart during the National Anthem & Pledge of Allegience. As you put it "I wonder if that news will reach a wide audience."To me that is more newsworth & scary than McCain's military record.
