Clay Aiken: Yes, I'm Gay

Aiken

He did it.

"I cannot raise a child to lie or hide things."

This is all we've got for the moment. I'll update this when there's an article posted at People. They say they'll have something up tomorrow at 7am.

I'm actually going to see her Friday in DC. I'll report back to you if she mentions it.

  7. Even though this falls under the category of "DUH!!!", I'm still glad he officially came out. Congrats, Clay. And your baby is adorable. Congrats on that too.

  10. He's holding that baby like a shield. The first thing that went through my mind when I saw this: "We know, girl."

  14. This is great on a few levels. It's good to see that Aiken is finally comfortable acknowledging his sexuality and it is a real example to people to be honest with themselves and with their families. It's also nice to see a role model (albeit a celebrity) of a single dad. There are a lot of men out there who give the sperm and spurn the responsibilities - here's a gay guy being a shining example of a loving pop. And what a cute kid!

  15. First of all: Duh! But I am still kind of surprised he actually came out. Good for him and his kid.
And that cry you just heard? Claymates reading the news.

  16. There go his screaming fat girl teen fans. The all were convinced Clay was hetero just sensitive to fat girls like them.

  17. I don't think so, Countess. She doesn't want to piss off anybody at CNN. She needs Larry King, remember.

  18. Who is Clay Aiken?

    Posted by: Seth | Sep 23, 2008 5:45:28 PM

  19. GGREEN, you should have more compassion for those fat girl teen fans -- after all, they are fag hags in training.

  20. i'm with the "duh" crowd -- the world knew it; it was time for him to acknowledge it. good on him.

  21. Whoa!

What prompted the change of heart??

THE QUEEN: Countess, we've been hacked. COUNTESS: Well, it was inevitable, really. I mean if can happen to Sarah Palin it can happen to anybody. THE QUEEN: Yeah, I guess you're right. Well, Let's open another bottle of Krug, shall we? COUNTESS: Right you are! Consuelo!

  23. no surprise here, but good for him.

    Posted by: David T | Sep 23, 2008 5:56:11 PM

  24. You know, it surprises no one of course, but at least he did it and I give him credit for that. Gays have been screaming for him to come out and now that he has, queens are gettin all snarky about it. Shit, it's more than Jodie Foster and Anderson Cooper have done! Well, hopefully it will encourage his "screaming gay fat boy teen fans". Sheesh.
