First Look: Little Britain USA
Here's a first look at the HBO adaptation of Matt Lucas' Little Britain for U.S. audiences, which seems to have strayed none-too-far from the original. While die-hard fans should be pleased to see familiar characters back and the series seems to have thrived in Britain on the one-note jokes, I sort of expected the series to have adopted a more American attitude, a la The Office. Still, these are just short clips, so we'll see. Premieres September 28.

Oh no, this looks reallly awful. I LOVE the original,and this pales in comparison.
It's like when Patsy and Edina guest starred on an episode of Roseanne, it was just painful and awkward to watch.
I guarantee they won't have one of the best characters ever on this show, Bubbles de Vere. OMG

Based on these clips, I completely agree. I love this show, but don't see how this is really a different course for it or how it differs from the original.

Thank god they didn't Americanize it! Then it would have sucked serious balls. Can't wait to see it.

Everyone except for the characters are American, and seemingly in American locales. The show was "Little Britian" because the quirkiness of Britian was the unmentioned cast member. And for someone who has lived in Britian, I can assure you that their weirdness and wit is so apropos.
Look at the Ab Fab on Roseanne thing I mentioned before...theres no contest...

I am one of the FAT FIGHTERS on LITTLE BRITAIN USA (and am proud to get towleroad emails). YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED - They really push the envelope for this series! REALLY! It is HILARIOUS! I am on three episodes of the six episode series - including the FAT FIGHTERS EPISODE with Rosie O'Donnell - YOU MUST SEE THAT! And by the way, Rosie, Matt and David were all genuinely wonderful to work with - each approached me, shook my hand, introduced themselves and made me feel very welcome on the set before MARJORIE DAWES started calling me a FATTY! By the way, I am now down 27 pounds - get cast as a FAT FIGHTER and you realize it is time to LOSE THE WEIGHT!

By Americanizing it I mean they didn't replace the original members with Americans actors.

By AMERICANIZING it - they mean that they removed London slang and used American words and sland - For Example: In Fat Fighters on the original show the "fatties" gained and lost weight measured in "stones" "You weigh fourteen stones, five" - on the new version Marjorie refers to the weight in Pounds!
