Just One Decision

Campbellbrown_tuckerbounds

You didn't see John McCain on Larry King last night because he pulled out over this humiliating interview between CNN's Campbell Brown and McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds on Sarah Palin. Bounds claims Palin has more national security experience than Obama yet can't name a single decision she made with regard to his flimsy argument about the Alaska National Guard or that experience.

Palin's been canceling all her appearances as well.

Watch it, AFTER THE JUMP...

  11. Wow! Wouldn't it be nice if ALL the media actually pressed questions like this and didn't put up with BS? The McCain team has gotten a pass for WAY too long.

  14. If by "shitting [our] pants" you mean "overwhelmed with glee," then yes.

  15. Bravo, Campbell!

He looks like a ventriloquist's dummy without the ventriloquist's brain. I almost felt sorry for him. Almost.

  16. I caught this live, Brown was almost laughing at Bounds. The funniest of their defense of Palin is that she's good on foreign policy because Alaska is so close to Russia. Man you can't make this shit up.

  17. We'll see how gleeful you are after Sarahcuda chews up and spits out Joe Biden at the VP debate.

Talk to me about your glee the morning of November 5th when McCain/Palin is declared the winner. Just try not to cry too hard into your bowl of oatmeal.

Newsflash: the coronation has been canceled.

  19. I just sprayed my oatmeal all over my computer screen laughing at that kool-aid comment.

    BWAAAAAAAAAH!

    Sarahcuda?

More like Sarah-nara as in Japanese for "buh-bye"!

  20. I caught this interview in real time on CNN; it was really awkward. Tucker was reciting the mantra of the Republican party, trying to step away from the questions with rehearsed recitative. Campbell (the real barracuda) went after him for facts . . . and he had none.

Even my 86 year old mother, a registered Independent, previously for McCain, has switched to Obama because of this ridiculous choice for VP. In summary, she thinks McCain must have early dementia to have made such a shallow decision, and she doesn't want more of the same with him in the White House. My mother is no dummy.

What I've found interesting during this campaign charade is to flip between CNN and Fox News during every major speech --- you get balanced reporting and analysis from CNN and only the same dreary hack, predictable Democrat bashing on Fox. Fox News' bigoted reporters even tried to downplay the significance of Obama's convention speech, while others, on every other station, in every newspaper, lauded it as the most important speech of his career.

But the greatest hypocrisy has hit center stage over the Palin teenage daughter fiasco, now being embraced as "a problem every family faces," a "Christian decision," and, even better "pregnant at 17 but she plans to marry the father." Imagine if this had been an African American candidate's daughter. Do you think the interpretation and spin would have been so lily white and pure?

It is time for change. Long overdue, in fact. Hillary was my choice, but Barack summed it up best: "ENOUGH!" It is time to get these bigoted bastards out of Washington.

  21. A journalist doing what they're supposed to - what a concept!

Sorry, AC, appears Campbell has the CNN balls now.

  22. I watched that in real time too, and it was indeed, a painful exercise to witness. Campbell Brown almost laughed herself into a stupor in trying to get this Tucker chap to give her something tangible and credible, but alas, he couldn't do it.
