German Gymnast Fabian Hambuechen Takes the Plunge
Those of you who watched the Beijing Olympics may remember gymnast Fabian Hambuechen's tender moment with American Jonathan Horton during the horizontal bar apparatus finals. Hambuechen appeared recently at a diving celebrity show event in Germany.

Two demerits for the segment:
1) The sterotypical Germain female busty blonde "interviewer" in the "Swingin Storm Trooper" garb. Is she on lunch break from touring in the "Springtime for Hitler" ensemble of "The Producers"?
2) His BOARDIES! WTF is up with that? Why bother?

Awwww, cute. He's so self-deprecating and the consummate athlete. He says he wasn't particularly pleased with the dive, but it was good enough to get him in the final and he'll take it from there.
I'm trying to figure out what other kind of non-diver "celebrity" could beat an Olympic gymnast at a diving competition. It would be like taking on Tiger Woods at mini-golf. Not EXACTLY the same skill set, but you're prolly gonna lose.

Near the end of the video, the announcer teases Hambüchen for wearing a swimsuit that's big enough to be a skirt.
I guess I'm not the only one who wanted to see him in a Speedo!

Lack of Speedo is very unfortunate. He's German, for cryin' out loud! Europeans are supposed to wear Speedos...it's what they do! Still a nice video though.

It's supposed to be maritime, not militaristic. More "Love Boat" than "Blitzkrieg".
BTW.: The interviewer's name is Sonya Kraus and no, she's not a guy in drag, she's just tall. Google has lots of sexy pictures of her (for those bi guys ;).
