Landlord: "I don’t think it’s homophobic, it’s just little minds, 11 or 12 year old boys who think ‘there’s a gay pub, let’s write on it’. They’ll probably be in here in 10 years’ time. If they want to hide in their closets let them. The people that are most anti are normally hiding from their gayness."

A third judge disagreed, arguing that it was easy to understand how a man who was persecuted because of his sexual orientation felt compelled to invent a story to escape from that persecution."

road.jpg Hollywood Reporter reviews W: "It's a gutsy movie but not necessarily a good one. Its greatest strength is that it wants to talk about what's on our minds right now and not wait for historians. In an election season, people will have opinions about 'W.' before even seeing it -- or not -- so boxoffice may be erratic. It deserves a fair hearing by American audiences, for Stone goes out of his way to give Bush a fair hearing."

Bruce, who identifies herself as transgender and a woman, said she changed her name in Clayton County Superior Court in 1980 to Mickey Michelle Bruce and goes by Michelle Mickey Bruce."

  1. Ab Fab... Again? What happened to the US remake that was planned a few years ago with Rosanne Barr and Carrie Fisher?

  2. So now that he's out of the movie business what shoudl David Geffen do next?

  3. If sexual persecution in Guatemala was the claim, it should have been denied as it did. While there is prejudice, like everywhere else, there is no sexual persecution.

A gay man would probably be safer there than in the US, considering the amount of bashings and killings we have seen lately. Bad for him, good for the truth.

  4. Just wanted to add that the campaign fighting the Arkansas Foster Care ban (aka "Initiated Act One") is Arkansas Families First, a coalition of local groups (Interfaith alliance, Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families, Stonewall Democrats, and Arkansas ACLU, among others).

We really, really need help in these last 30 days or so till the election. This Act is bad for gay rights and is another instance of right-wing groups trying to legislate morality... but most of all, it's bad for Arkansan foster children, who need as many homes as possible!

  5. Andy, can I just say how much I appreciate all the fun space/science/nature stuff you post? You seem to enjoy that kind of stuff so much, and it's stuff I would probably never come across in my spheres of music and politics.

    That's all, the end.

  6. "SNL working to book Sarah Palin for spoof of Tina Fey." What the fuck?

Just one of the many reasons Lorne Michaels should be euthanized. Sarah Palinolithic is not just the punchline of a joke. Her Stepford Candidate fangs are deep into actual life and death issues. Michaels and his herd need to climb out of their Too Cool for School NYC bubble.

Next you'll be telling us Ellen is going to invite Laura Bush and one of the twins on her show, "normalize" them, and make a dead-on-arrival joke about calling the Commander-In-Thief. What? She already did that? Nevermind.
