James Franco Wants to Kiss All Kinds of Men Now

Franco_letterman

As we know, James Franco is not the kind to not kiss and tell.

If Franco wasn't sensational and completely authentic in Milk as Milk's lover, I'd be a bit bothered that he's still making such a big deal about this, but he is and I'm not.

Watch it, AFTER THE JUMP...

  1. Franco is utterly adorable and quite a serious person in many respects. He was on the Silverlake mach agains Prop 8 as you noted, Andy. Moreover he's going to play Allen Ginsberg in "Howl" by Rob and Jeffrey -- which means two gay parts in a row. I'm suprised that everyone has gotten all pissy about his Letterman appearance.

Dave,BTW, was quite impressed with "Milk."

  2. He deserves an Oscar just for that.

  3. To be fair to James Franco, it was DAVE who was obsessing over the kiss. I watched this when it first aired and could see Franco trying to come up with a new spin to the same question for the 1000th time.

I think the actor's cheek kiss of David was an amusing answer to the unasked question, "Why are you so interested, Dave?!" Smooch.

  5. Andy, I don't understand your constant complaining about Franco discussing the kiss. It's always been the interviewer asking him about it. What do you want him to do, ignore the question? He obviously has no qualms about kissing a man. He played a hustler in Sonny, gay in Milk and is now playing Allen Ginsberg for Pete's sake. Give the guy a break.

  6. He hasn't kissed me yet.

  7. As far as I'm concerned, considering that he marched with us against Prop H8, James Franco can do or say anything he wants. Besides, he's HOT.

  8. Dave is pretty liberal but I was uncomfortable with him trying to get laughs out of a man-on-man kiss.

  9. gawd! what a hottie.

  10. Keep it up...y'all are going to turn this boy gay. And then what will he do? Spend his life on a dance floor?

  11. Letterman's line about Franco not wanting to be good at kissing a guy feels dated . Straight men of his generation felt they needed to make a huge show of being very uncomfortable with anything gay. And now it just makes them look deeply uptight and foolish when they do that.

  12. I think Franco is trying to deal with it as best he can, though I do think he can do other things to handle it.

Dave is known for being a pest and asking the same thing over and over again. But I do think Franco can actually "ignore" the question or even ask Dave why he is so obsessed with talking about the kiss rather than the movie.

The whole "is that something you want to be good at" thing really bugs me.

  13. I think Franco did a good job of turning the question around so that he talked about kissing Sean Penn, not a "man" per se.
