Rachel Maddow: Glam News Lesbian Goddess

Rachel Maddow has been honored in this year's OUT 100. This photo of Maddow was shot by Roger Erickson at indochine in New York City.
Maddow told OUT: "I'm a big lesbian who looks like a man. I am not, like, Anchor Babe, and I'm never gonna be."
OUT is revealing this year's OUT 100 a little at a time. You can check out the other honorees here.
Our favorite MSNBC anchor is also the subject of a feature in this week's New York magazine.
She tells New York: "I’ve been out most of my life. I don’t feel like I have a choice about it. I look gay." As for her androgynous look, she says, "If I’m wearing a gray suit, people aren’t going to talk about what I’m wearing, therefore, I will wear a gray suit every time I go on television. That was sort of the plan."

Hmmmm, I don't think she looks mannish. I think she's very pretty actually. Not Angelina Jolie gorgeous, but she is pretty (or maybe I'm bias, I've always loved her show).

Sorry, Rachel, but to me you don't look at all like a man. Now Barbara Bush looks like a man, Bay Buchanan looks like a man, even Mary Matalin looks like a man, but definitely not you. Anyway, keep up the good job!

Indochine is still open after all these years ??
and they still have the same wallpaper ???

I think she's beautiful too and she's actually *nice*-even to people that she totally disagrees with-it would be nice to see more of that in politics and society in general. I hope she becomes big enough to take over Olbermann's spot-that man is so smug and loathsome.
And I have to love her since she's a Stanford woman.

It's a shame so many gays and lesbians feel insecurities because they don't fit the classic societal image for their gender. I think Rachel is very attractive as a woman. But then factor in her intelligence, sense of humor, and that amazing gift she has for putting complex issues into words most people can understand... and well, she's a sexy beast!
I swear that woman almost makes me want to be a lesbian. Almost!

My husband & I love Rachel (and Keith O. for that matter)...she was recently featured in the New York Daily News and mentioned her parner...too bad, I was hoping to hook her up my my glam lesbian sister!
BTW, just came from my polling place in the East Village...1/2 hr. line...and it did feel great to pull that antique red lever!

Deep down, I realize that Rachel is the only woman for whom I could possibly go. I can safely say that, because I'm certain that Rachel wouldn't want me to go for her. Her mannish hair and clothes helps with this attraction.
Charles, personally I love Olbermann. He had the nerve to say things on TV that nobody else was brave enough to say. Saying that, I admit that Rachel is quite wonderful doing what she's doing.

The problem >I< have with Rachel is that; the more I listen to her, the more turned off I am by her passive-aggressive "I am really afraid to be happy about this election" vibe. For all the absolute great news we get on the Obama front, she will surely put some GOP pundit on stage to shoot holes through it and tout how great McCain really is doing. I know she is just trying to remain level, but criminee, it was just getting depressing to watch her. I really got tired of it and just turned her off.
And no, we don't need to have a "Rah! Rah! Rah! Obama is gonna win!" television show, but a little of that would have been a nice balance.

I'm in love with Rachel. She'd totally be my answer to the "Who would you have dinner with..." question.

She is a pretty woman to me, not at all manly looking, and, this from one of her biggest fans.
And, Bob, you called the women who actually do look like men right!

Brett, I'd like to meet your glam lesbian sister.

LUV HER! *two snaps up and a special flannel shirt round the world snap* (a tribute to Men On Film) (YouTube it, youngsters).
Rachel is my favorite on the political talk show circuit; totally liberal, unabashedly lesbian and smart as a whip. I am glad she is on our team. And I want her glasses. And, isn't it Dr. Rachel Maddow, Rhodes scholar?

Y'all have never seen a pretty man? Take a look at Rob Lowe when he was in "Hotel New Hampshire". He made Jodie Foster look like a rough neck compared to his pretty face.
Hell, me and THE QUEEN used to be pretty back when Carter was president (for me)...Eisenhower for my West Coast Sis.

Such a hero Rachel Maddow is. Absolutely love her show, her style, her attitude.
Rachel, if you're reading this, know you have big fans in Chicago! And keep up the good work. Thank you!

Amen brother.

I have to agree that Rachel does not look like a man. She looks like the out, fabulous dyke she is. I use dyke in the most loving way possible.
Her comment about the Poll Tax was brilliant

I freakin' love this woman. The most appealing personality in broadcast -- and not least of which because she is also one of the most intelligent. And the fact that she so values manners, civility, and personal respect (as she says in the NY Mag article)? Slam dunk.

Rachel! you look gorgeous, babe!
That wallpaper is simply brilliant...

I love Rachel. I've been listening to her on Air America for over 3 years now and I already know how smart and insightful she is. She also takes the edge off or I'd go crazy with exasperation at America during the Bush years (only a few more months to go, yay!). Rachel, I'll back you forever.

What is up with this Lesbian power hunting BITCH? She's pounding Sarah Palin while she's down because Sarah won't go mufpjland2@email.uky.eduf diving with her. No offence to Lesbians, but this Bull Dyke shit has to go. We have bigger fish to fry than Sarah's clothes. Rachels just pissed because she thinks all women should dress in a T-shirt and blue jeans with a freaking James Dean twist.
Air America at it's best. Give me a break. NOW SHES ON PRIME TIME, OMG
What she needs is a BIGGIN UP HER RUMP WHILE HER FACE IS PUSHED IN A BIG PLATE OF BUSCITS AND GRAVY, NO KY JELLY FOR THIS AIR AMERICA FREAKIN BITCH!!! THAT SHOULD (WILL) TAKE THE SASSY SHIT RIGHT OUT, I GUARANTEE.

Her show is one of the few reasons I can list as why I have a tv....
but did someone really just write
"no offense to lesbians, but this bull dyke shit has to go" seriously? really? is that a joke...
well since you prefaced it ...
of course no offense taken
