Gay Man is Cover Artist for Obama's Spider-Man Debut
President-elect Barack Obama is to be featured in five pages of a special inauguration issue of Marvel Comics' Amazing Spider-Man, USA Today reports:
"The White House transition team did not respond to a question about the extent of Obama's comic-book geekiness, but Obama did mention Spider-Man during the campaign, primarily at children-oriented events. And during an Entertainment Weekly pop culture survey, Obama said Batman and Spider-Man were his top superheroes because of their 'inner turmoil.'"
Towleroad hears that the cover art was done by gay artist and NYC resident Phil Jimenez.
That's not spider-man. It's Bill dress up like him. Because you know Bill still thinks he is King of the Dems.

Gay geek moment: Phil Jimenez is one of the sweetest, most kind people I've have the pleasure to talk with. I've approached him at several conventions (I know, I know - NERD!) and he's always been a pleasure.
But, um, yeah - that's pretty freakin' corny. Damn Marvel editors and their "brilliant ideas"...

Marvel extends the storyline to 6 issues so Spider-Man and Obama can fight villains like Bill O'Reilly, aka The Parrot, whose powers include a Super Squawk and the deafening repetition of talking points.
