Steven Klein May Still Remain Anonymous, His Date Not So Much
Above, a shot from photographer Steven Klein's latest enigmatic campaign for Dolce & Gabbana. The City's Adam Senn takes a spot in the background.
In related news, Klein and Madonna had dinner together at New York's Waverly Inn over the weekend. The Daily Mail identified Klein as a "mysterious new beau". Mysterious yet undoubtedly platonic. The NY Post followed suit (h/t chexydecimal).
No doubt Madonna ordered the salmon. And, perhaps it is working.

Finally, some D&G clothes that would flatter nearly anyone. If you weigh less than 100 pounds, that is.
Maybe the salmon is working. That's the best picture of her I've seen in ages.

It seems to me that this blog is obsess with Madonna....to give so much attention to this whore is beyond me. The material girl did NOTHING to support her Gay friends during Prop 8 and you are still talking about her as if she was the best thing ever created on this planet....When would you learn? She SUCKS...HER MUSIC SUCKS and as a person she is a REAL CUNT!!

This blog is far from obsessed (yes Joe, there is an 'ed' to indicate past tense) with Madonna. It's one posting out of many on different subjects. As far as doing nothing to support her gay friends, that's horseshit. Have you been alive in the last 20 years? I doubt it, otherwise you would know that just because she doesn't spend her life fighting for gay rights doesn't mean she has contributed A LOT to our cause. Oh, and if her music sucks, is that why she had the top grossing concert this year? As far as a person goes, I doubt you know her personally. Anyone can be portrayed as anything in the media. How do you not know this? I don't know her and I could care less if she terrorizes her staff - that's between them. She's has provided years of fun music and entertainment. What have you done?

Thank you,Chris!I do like Madonna but Im not obsessed with her however,I did go to her concert last spring at the Roseland ballroom followed by the Peter Rauhofer/Offer Nissim concert after party at the club across from Roseland. She did a gr8 performance,I do NOT understand why so many miserable queens trash her all the time.Aside from liking some of Madonnas songs, frankly the whole pop music thing is to "queeny" for me.I really prefer Underground House Music and Jazz and even some underground disco and UK garage music.Aside from the NYC gay nightlife scene,I havent met that many other gay men who really understand and appreciate House Music. The ignorant idiots always refer to it as "techno" or "drug music" which goes to show how pathetic and miserable these queens are.But I digress.Madonna is still rockin' even at the age of 50,instead of trashing her all the time, why dont you get up off ur lazy sorry excuse for a human being ass,and make some real contributions to your own gay & lesbian community.I mean 4' Real

@ CHRIS: Maybe I'm just getting old and forgetful, but seriously, what has La Donna done for the gay community beyond entertainment?

If you look at this photo compared to the one on kennethinthe212.com, you'll think something's fishy. It's not the same photo, but they obviously were taken at nearly the same time. In this one, she looks great. In the other, she looks awful.

Joe, LOL!!! You are SO funny! 'She SUCKS...HER MUSIC SUCKS and as a person she is a REAL CUNT!!' Dude, get some therapy.

I'm so sick of the if they don't fight for gay rights. Why should she. Gay men like a lot of artists who don't fight for us, why is Madonna constantly held accountable. She isn't gay it isn't up to her to do a damn thing. Wake up!
Joe you want equality go out and get it yourself. Harvey Milk was a man like any other, he became who he was through dertermination, strength and his beliefs. He didn't sit at home and bitch about pop stars not doing enough to support him.
As for her past, Madonna mostly did work for AIDS charities including AmFar and was part of the AIDS Dance-a-Thons in the 80's and 90's. Two of her friends Martin Burgoyne and Keith Haring died of AIDS and she supported them during that time. There is plenty more but what difference does it make. IT ISN'T UP TO HER TO FIGHT FOR OUR RIGHTS.

@ WILL: thank you for the reminder. I asked about what she's done because others have defended her appearance on TR based on her work as an ally.
But I do have to differ on your last point: it's up to all of us, as human beings, to fight for, or at least stand up for, those who are denied equal rights.

Madonna is fabulous. Always has been, always will be. Queen of us all.

Some Queens will buy a whole album of Madonna farting! She cna't sing She can't act and she isn't a nice person. Joe is right, if it wasn't for the gay community Madonna would never be as successful as she is or was! I was pretty disappointed that after ALL the support we gave to her career she was completely silent during prop 8. I actually went to her concert in San Diego and people had prop 8 signs right on her face and she didn't say a word. Wether you like it or not, she decided to stay silent during such of important time for our community. I am not longer a fan and I will never purchase anything from her! Her time is up!! She had the most successful tour in history and she couldn't donate at list 100 dollars to NO ON PROP 8? You can be blind and you can allow someone to slap you in the face in the way that she did, luckily I know a lot of people who are not longer going to support her career. Until all these Queens wake up and realize that supporting someone that DOES NOT SUPPORT YOU we will never prevail. PERIOD.
To try to make her look good and say that she's done so much for our community is a shame, we are not stupid, she's done NOTHING to support our community...that's the same as saying that you have gay friends but still voted yes on Prop 8(good example is Rick Warren....he stated that he has a lot of gay friends.....) I don't know about you ...but you don't turn your back on your friends...and Madonna did that to a community that loved her unconditionally and supported her in good times and in bad times....But enough is enough...she has shown her true colors and her time is up!
Posted by: Sean | Jan 13, 2009 2:02:25 AM
Woah, Sean.. Prop 8 is not the end all and be all of the gay rights movement, so if Madonna chose not to support it (and let's face it, she was kinda busy with her own marriage falling apart to necessary fight for our right to marry) then that doesn't erase all the things she did to support us in the past. 9And actually, she did speak out against Prop 8 at at least one concert... and it was posted on this site as I recall)
Yup, you're damn right she donated lots of time and money to AIDS charities, and she was our major champion in the 80s when Reagan refused to mention the word AIDS or lift a finger to help us and the other "undesirables" and when other politicians actually felt we should be quarantined or banished on a deserted island. Seriously, Madge, Elizabeth Taylor and Elton John were probably the biggest stars to actually change public opinion into thinking we are human and not garbage who deserved this "scurge of God". You're probably too young to know that, and that's cool, but then don't talk like an authority when you don't know what you're talking about.
Now, if you hate Madonna's music, fine. That's cool... but lots of us fags love her music (her last album has lots of great songs, IMO) and I'm sure the stuff you listen to may or may not be music I'd be into... but who cares... one person's trash is another person's treasure, so why begrudge someone their taste in music.
Which then leads to why Towelroad features her... because some of us actually care about her and like her. I couldn't care about some other music artists or "celebrities" (enough about Anderson Cooper already), but I don't whine about why they're on here... I just don't read the posting.
And I am really tired of all these queers going on about her looks and age... yeesh... why are y'all so sexist and ageist? Guess what, we all age, so move on... she looks pretty good for 50. Maybe she goes to extremes as far as salmon diets and plastic surgery, but here's a thought... we criticise her if she looks old or looks her age, but then we make fun of her if she tries to fight her age and look better. How's a gal supposed to win with you peeps.... and when you turn 50, what will you do? Let yourself go or fight like hell to look fabulous? Think about it...
Okay... now that I've made that clear to y'all, the discussion can finally be put to rest... I am sure I've solved this problem within our community and the world will be a better place now that I've persuaded you all to see the errors of your ways :)
Peace out!

Thanks Glenn!! Well said! I think a lot of these negative comments are from really young guys who don't even know what Madonna did in the 80's and 90's!! She's so AWESOME!! Plus, she has a family now and was going through a divorce. I was at the San Diego concert to a packed house and she INDEED did mention something about Prop 8!!!! She is the best!!!
